Beer-O-Vision was down at Mr. Goodbar Wednesday night for the Goodbeer Club- but not shooting. We needed to catch up on Episode 3, and also want to tape the segments for Episode 4 in advance of the Goodbeer Club shoot, so that when we put in that unifying piece, all the other spots can just be dropped in for the full show. The upside? I got to kick back, enjoy the tasting, and chat a bit with some fellow enthusiasts including guest host Bill Metzger (Publisher of the Great Lakes Brewing News) and Paul Madson, owner of Alternative Brews. Beer-O-Vision progress has been on the slow side, due in large part to the convergence of Bass Pros & Cons, the Italian experience in Riverside/BlackRock documentary, and now of course Old Home Week. That said, we were down at Flying Bison on Thursday for a segment with Tim Herzog, and also shot a segment down at the Beer-O-Vision Test Kitchen on Friday, so things are moving along. I advise you now: Episode Three is not for you if you dislike bikini girls with machine guns, or sock puppets…

The Buffalo News is reporting today (24th June, 2007) about a local company, Niagara Dispensing Technologies, who have developed a new tap which cuts the time it takes to pour a beer by 75%. 75-frikkin-percent!!! As the article states:

“Pfffffht,” goes the machine, jetting beer into the cup and topping it with a quarter-inch of foam. The cup fills in about three seconds — about one-quarter the time it takes a conventional tap to do the job.
